The EFC U23 Epee event took place in Sofia on 9th May 2026, followed by the EFC U23 Sabre event on the 10th. After winning three of her five epee poule fights, Sophie Peat went into the direct elimination rounds seeded eighth. After earning a bye into the tableau of 16, Sophie fought Victoria Velislavova (BUL) and with a decisive 15-5 win, she went into the quarterfinals. There, she defeated Monika Nedeva (BUL) – who was seeded first – 15-7.

Having earned a place on the podium, Sophie’s next opponent was Alexandra Suchkova (BUL). A 15-11 win took her to the gold medal match, where she faced Austria’s Gloria-Dahlia Legac. Strong and confident fencing throughout the final resulted in a 15-9 victory for Sophie, claiming the title at the EFC U23 event.

Sophie’s victory follows her silver medal that she won at the EFC Eurofence event in March this year.
