PEAT TAKES SILVER AT LUXEMBOURG EUROFENCE EPEE

Sophie Peat won the silver medal at the EFC Eurofence League Epee competition in Luxembourg, which took place on 7th-8th March 2026.

From a field of 69 fencers, Sophie Peat collected the silver medal at the EFC Eurofence League Epee competition in Luxembourg. After winning all six of her poules, she went into the direct elimination round seeded 2nd, with a bye into the last 32.

Sophie’s first knockout fight was against Kathrin Odolo (SUI) and after claiming a confident 15-7 win, she went through to the last 16. Her next fight was against Vanie Gogniat (SUI), which Sophie also won 15-11.

In the last 8, Sophie met Germany’s Eva Steffens and defeated her 15-12. Having secured a place on the podium, she faced Beatrix Umlauf (AUT) in the semi-final, beating her 15-10 to go through to the final. Despite a strong effort, she was taken out by Elena Ferracuti (ITA) with a final score of 7-15, earning her the silver medal.
