EFC and FIE licences for the upcoming 2026/27 season are now available to purchase.
Published 3rd August 2026
EFC and FIE licences for the current 2025/26 season will expire on 31st August 2026. Since Saturday 1st August 2026, athletes and coaches that will require an EFC and/or an FIE licence for the upcoming 2026/27 fencing season have been able to purchase these via Sport:80. From Monday 3rd August 2026, BF will process these licence requests.
If you are intending to compete in EFC and/or FIE competitions in the upcoming season, British Fencing recommend that you apply for a licence as soon as you can to ensure you are all set to accept your place at these competitions via Sport:80.
Licences can be purchased via your Sport:80 account in the following way:
- Log in to Sport:80
- Click ‘View Profile’
- Use the column to navigate to the ‘International Licences’ tab
- Click the blue ‘+ Add Licence’ button where you will be able to purchase an EFC licence (using the ‘EFC Licence Application/Renewal’ tab) and/or FIE licence (using the ‘FIE Licence Application/Renewal’ tab)
- You will then be prompted to apply and make payment for your licence
Please be aware that over one thousand GBR EFC and FIE licences will expire at the end of August 2026, meaning that BF will be handling a large number of renewal requests during August. To help BF support the community as efficiently as possible during this time:
- Please follow the instructions online, please note that BF don’t set the rules or the process around the GDPR form for FIE licences, so where you are asked to sign and upload one please make sure you carefully follow the instructions or the FIE will reject it.
- If you do not have a current passport or evidence of British nationality uploaded to your Sport:80 profile (this can be found in the ‘Passport Information’ section of your Sport:80 profile), plus upload this before submitting a licence request.
- Before contacting BF, please check this page for instructions and answers to the most common queries.
