ABOUT THE BF WELFARE OFFICER REGISTER

BF has updated the Welfare Officer Search page to make it easier for clubs, organisations and fencers to find a Welfare Officer. Welfare Officers on the register may be club WO’s, Event WO’s or both. This will be shown in the qualification type of their profile.

All coaches listed meet the BF Welfare Register Requirements.

Please find here a step-by-step guide to the requirements you need to be fully compliant. You can find details of the accepted welfare training here, and you can book onto our courses here.

Note: If your current certificate expires before the course date you intend to book, please let us know by email so that we can extend the date of the current training and ensure you do not fall off the register.

WHY SOME WELFARE OFFICERS MAY NOT APPEAR

Not all registered Club or Event Welfare Officers will appear in the search results. Visibility depends on their profile settings in the membership platform.

CHECKING YOUR VISIBILITY AS A WELFARE OFFICER

If you are a Club or Event Welfare Officer who meets all the requirements but does not appear in the search results—and would like to—please ensure the locator preferences on your Sport:80 profile are switched on. You can contact us if you need further support.

Club Welfare Officer Register Requirements

This role also requires an appropriate Disclosure Check – these vary with your Home Country.

Scotland

For anyone in Scotland who is renewing their CWPS training you may be entitled to do the CPWS Renewal Certificate which is online training rather than the full course. Check the Child Protection Training page on Scottish Fencing’s website for further details.
