THE NEW ONLINE HOME OF THE SWORD

The Sword has a newly revamped website. Members and clubs are encouraged to write articles to feature in the new Club Spotlight and other categories.

The Sword is BF’s long-running members’ magazine, established in 1948. In response to changing reading habits, the website was launched in 2024. It has since undergone a revamp and is now available here.

The new website features categories such as ‘Performance’, ‘Community’, ‘Coaching & Wellbeing’, ‘Culture and History’, and also any book or film reviews related to fencing.

It also features the brand new ‘Club Spotlight’. We encourage clubs to write articles about any exciting news, including achievements, fundraisers, or community projects.

More generally, we encourage people to submit articles relating to ‘Women and Girls in Fencing’, ‘Coaching Tips’, and ‘Fencing Book Reviews.’

We welcome articles about other fencing-related topics. If you are unsure about what category they fit into, please submit them anyway.

The website now also has a dedicated section to video, in which you can watch all the 2026 BF Learning Month webinars that have been uploaded.

If you would like to submit an article, please email media@britishfencing.com explaining what the article is about and which category you would like it published under.

We will regularly update the ‘Write an Article’ page with ideas for articles. You can check out that page below:
