SUSY DAVIES JOINS BF AS TALENT PATHWAY COORDINATOR

Susy Davies has joined BF as Talent Pathway Coordinator, bringing a wealth of experience from both local government and higher education to support the development of emerging fencing talent across the UK.
Susy joins British Fencing following impactful roles in local government and at the University of Essex, where she had roles that focused on programme development, performance support and providing leadership to the coaching workforce and sport scholarship programmes. At Essex, she was instrumental in coordination of support services across both sport and education, working closely with student-athletes, academic departments and external partners as well as providing administration support for the University’s professional sports teams.
Prior to her time in higher education, Susy worked in local government, where she led community engagement projects focusing specifically on club development and initiatives to encourage more women and girls into physical activity. Her ability to build strong networks and foster strong working relationships are central to her approach, and she brings that same energy and vision to British Fencing’s talent pathway.
In her new role, Susy will support the coordination of British Fencing’s national talent pathway, supporting young athletes as they progress through the sport. She will work closely with coaches, clubs, and regional partners to ensure that the pathway is inclusive, transparent, and performance-focused.
“I’m incredibly proud of what we achieved at Essex, and I’m excited to bring that experience to British Fencing,” said Susy. “Creating environments where athletes can grow and succeed is what drives me, and I look forward to working with the fencing community to build a pathway that’s ambitious, inclusive, and athlete-centred.”
