Louis Guennou claimed a silver medal at the EFC Men’s Foil Eurofence League competition, which took place in Samorin, Slovakia, on the 19th October 2025.

Winning four of his six poule fights, Louis went into the direct elimination round of the competition seeded 20th. His first fight was against Czech fencer Vojtech Holemy in the last 64, earning a 15-13 victory to go into the 32. He then claimed two 15-10 victories against Adam Eliaz (ISR) and Marek Totusek (CZE).

Now seeded fourth, Louis defeated Angola’s Luis Macedo 15-9 in the last eight to take him to the podium matches. In the semi-final, he faced 1st seed Marco Panazzolo (ITA). With confident fencing and a final score of 15-11, Louis then went through to the final. Despite a strong effort, he was taken out by Italy’s Emanuele Iaquinta with a final score of 7-15, earning him the silver medal.

After the competition, Louis said:

“Winning silver felt both joyful and relieving. Sunday proved to me that I could execute my strongest actions under competition pressure.

“There are so many people to thank for my development that it’s impossible to name them all, which is a testament to how fortunate I’ve been with the support I’ve received throughout my life. At the top of the list, however, is my mum Masako, who has always been my biggest supporter. On the day, massive thank you to the men’s and women’s squads who rooted for me until the end, and to my friend and teammate Joshua Burn for cornering me.”
