SCOUT ADVENTURES AND BRITISH FENCING PARTNERSHIP RENEWAL
We’re delighted to have renewed our partnership with the English Scout Adventures Centres, provider of outdoor facilities and adventurous activities.

Scout Adventures has renewed their partnership between BF and the English Scout Adventures Centres for another two years. Known as BF’s Official Training Partner, they join BF’s Train The Trainer programme, formerly known as the Licensed Partner Programme (LPP). Through Train The Trainer, coaches are trained to deliver BF’s Core Coach course to activity instructors across their organisation, allowing them to deliver introductory fencing sessions to participants.
Scout Adventures is owned by The Scout Association, the UK’s leading youth charity. For over 100 years, they’ve delivered safe, challenging and educational experiences to millions of young people. It is run on a not-for-profit basis, with profits being reinvested into supporting their activities and protecting their sites’ natural landscapes. They offer residential and shorter activity days, along with 70 different activities. Every year, Scout Adventures works with Scouts, Girlguiding, schools and youth groups.
Care, respect, integrity, cooperation, exploring our own and others’ beliefs are central to Scout Adventures’ values. As such, they believe in preparing young people with lifelong skills, developing their confidence and future prospects.
Scout Adventures also offers a Residential Volunteer Programme for both UK and overseas applicants, which provides hands-on experience working with young people in an adventurous outdoor setting.
There are nine Scout Adventures activity centres across the UK, which are owned and operated by the respective national headquarters. These are:
- Broadstone Warren (East Sussex), Gilwell Park (London), Great Tower (the Lake District) and Youlbury (Oxford) (operated by The Scouts Association).
- Fordell Firs (Edinburgh), Lochgolihead (Loch Lomond) and Meggernie, (Perthshire) (operated by Scouts Scotland).
- Yr Hafod (Snowdonia) (operated by Scouts Cymru).
- Crawfordsburn (Bangor) (operated by Scouts Northern Ireland).
Victoria Redwood at Scout Adventures said:
“Our partnership with British Fencing allowed Scout Adventures to provide Fencing taster sessions to over 10,000 young people in 2025. Including Fencing in our activity options is important to Scout Adventures, providing opportunities for young people to develop skills such as focus, body awareness and precision. We look forward to the opportunities provided in 2026 by continuing our partnership.”
Harry Brown, BF Head of Partnerships, added:
“Scout Adventures, particularly the English Scout Adventures Centres involved in the partnership, play a pivotal role to introducing children and young people to fencing across their nine centres, offering a sport that is not commonly seen within the outdoor and adventure sector to groups including Scouts, Girlguiding, Schools and beyond. BF is excited to renew this partnership where we can continue to empower workforce and grow the existing fencing offering over the next two years.”
