BF PRESIDENT PAT AIYENURO ELECTED TO FIE COMEX

At the 2025 FIE Congress in Bahrain, Pat Aiyenuro was elected to the FIE Executive Committee.

At the 2025 FIE Congress held on the 22nd November in Manama, Bahrain, BF President Pat Aiyenuro was elected to the FIE Executive Committee, winning over the French Candidate Phillippe Omnes by 69 to 63 votes.

Elected members of the FIE Executive Committee (COMEX) were originally voted in at the 2024 FIE Congress.

With the stepping down of the FIE Interim President in April 2025 this created a vacancy on COMEX. The space would normally go to the person who received the next highest number of votes at the most recent elective congress. In that election two candidates tied – BF President Pat Aiyenuro and the French candidate Philippe Omnes.

Pat’s appointment will be the first time for 10 years that a GBR representative has served on the FIE Comex, after Peter Jacobs stepped down in 2013.

Speaking on her election, Pat Aiyenuro said, “I am honoured and delighted to be given this opportunity to work with colleagues to build a stronger future for the FIE and fencing across the world. I would like to thank everyone that supported my journey so far”.

Sara Pantuliano, BF Chair added, “We are thrilled to see Pat’s outstanding leadership and expertise recognised by National Federations around the world. Her appointment is not only a testament to her achievements, but also a significant opportunity for her to help shape the future direction of our sport. We are equally grateful for the continued support of UK Sport, whose investment in our International Relations strategy enables us to champion strong British candidates for influential international roles.”
