NEW WHEELCHAIR FENCING FRAMES AVAILABLE ON LOAN SCHEME

Following the Cardiff 2026 Para Fencing European Championships, there will be new wheelchair fencing frames joining our current frame loan scheme, which will be available for new clubs to use. Apply before 28th September.

The wheelchair fencing frames will be available immediately following the Para Fencing European Championships in Cardiff, taking place on 6th-11th October 2026. Clubs must be able to either collect the frame themselves from the event or receive it at their venue on 12th or 13th October.

We believe there are at least two more frames available for new clubs not currently on the loan scheme. The loan scheme was originally launched following the 2024 Wheelchair Fencing World Cup in Cardiff.

Please use the form below to express your interest in receiving one of the two frames. Please note that in the event of an abundance of applications, decisions will be made based on application responses in line with BF’s 2030 Strategy goal 1 to Grow Participation.

We intend to loan frames to clubs on a long-term basis, helping them support their local communities and build more grassroots wheelchair fencing opportunities nationally. The frames on the loan scheme will only be recalled in the event that they are not being used effectively by a club, or that we run another large-scale wheelchair fencing competition like the 2024 World Cup or this year’s European Championships.

The frame loan will be free. In return, clubs will be expected to agree to some basic terms of hire, including:

  • Storing the equipment in a secure and dry area when not in use.
  • Using the equipment regularly to support the growth of wheelchair fencing participation.
  • Keeping the equipment in good repair.

We are keen to ensure a good spread of improved wheelchair fencing opportunities around the UK. We will therefore be taking clubs’ geographic locations into account when deciding where to allocate the frames.
