FIRST EVER GLOBAL PARA FENCING WOMEN’S TEAM EPEE MEDAL
History has been made at the Para Fencing World Cup 2025 in Solo, Indonesia, where GBR brought home the first ever Women’s Team Epee global medal.

Emily Holder and Gemma Collis secured a historic silver medal in their match against Hong Kong, the world number 1 team. This is the first Para Fencing global medal for GBR in Women’s Team Epee.
There have never been any Paralympic medals for GBR in Women’s Team Epee, and records show just one European medal back in 1991. Meaning this medal is the first for GB on the global stage.
Gemma Collis said, “So immensely proud of what Emily and I managed to achieve as a team – beating the World No 1 Hong Kong over a new shortened format being tested, to secure what we believe is Britain’s first ever global Para Fencing Women’s Team Epee medal!”
“For a long time when I was the sole female representative for GB, I thought I’d never get the opportunity to stand on a Women’s Team podium… but today, 13 years into my career, I finally did – and what a special moment it was.”
From the World Para Fencing report:
Great Britain’s Gemma Collis and Emily Holder dug deep as a team of two to face Pengprasittipong, Nakprasit and Paralympic champion Saysunee Jana, the latter also being the individual gold medallist from earlier in the week from the category B, in the women’s team epee. Meanwhile, Great Britain benefitted from Collis being a silver medallist in the category A.
Thailand proved to be too strong for Great Britain in the end, but Emily Holder gained useful experience under the lights and pressure of the finals piste in a match that showcased the increasing strength of both countries.
A huge congratulations to Gemma and Emily for this remarkable achievement.
