This information is no longer current – latest information can be found here: International Competition Entry and Withdrawal Process.
BF seeks to ensure that young fencers have sufficient competition experience, providing a developmental and positive international experience. Currently, U14 events do not have specific ranking requirements, and this category has no selection process. Instead, you must fill out this form to express your interest in participating in these events.
All Under 14 EFC competitions are considered nominated, thus they carry ranking points and can count towards selection for the U14 EFC Festival.
Parents and coaches are advised to read the competition information (reglements) as there may be a requirement to source a referee for these event’s.
Minimum Standards
Athletes must meet minimum standards to support age and stage-appropriate development. Specifically, the Selection Policy requires athletes to have competed in at least three international events before being considered for selection for the U14 EFC Festival. These standards help ensure participation aligns with each athlete’s developmental readiness.
The Current EFC Referee Quota:
- 1-3 fencers – no referee required
- 4-9 fencers – one referee
- 10-15 fencers – two referees
- 16-20 fencers – three referees
There may be fines for failing to provide the referee(s), depending on the organisers.
