BF LAUNCHES NEW ENVIRONMENTAL STRATEGY

BF has published a new Environmental Sustainability Strategy that members and stakeholders can now read on the Green Piste, BF’s new website zone for environmental initiatives.

The strategy outlines BF’s five major environmental priorities:-

  • Reducing emissions from travel and events.
  • Eliminating plastic waste at BF events.
  • Engaging suppliers and venues in sustainability efforts
  • Educating and motivating the fencing community.
  • Using international influence to drive change.

BF’s environmental sustainability mission and vision are explained in the strategy, with BF pledging to reduce carbon emissions, inspire the fencing community to take positive action to reduce the sport’s impact on the climate, and make fencing ‘accessible, enjoyable and environmentally sustainable.’

The full strategy includes information on the UN programme Sports for Climate Action, explanations on how fencing and the environment continue to affect each other, and ways for members to reduce their impact on the environment.

BF will be delivering on the strategy and encourages members to read the sustainability policy available on the ‘Environmental Sustainability Working Group’ page.

We encourage members to take advantage the educational resources provided by United Nations Climate Change. View them here.
