ANTI-DOPING RESEARCH OPPORTUNITY

BF has agreed to take part in some anti-doping research, led by the University of Birmingham for WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency).

This project explores athlete knowledge of anti-doping education.

Our involvement means we’ll be asking athletes who compete at a national and/or international level to consider completing a 10-minute online survey about their anti-doping knowledge. By participating, you’ll have the opportunity to enter a prize draw for a chance to win Amazon vouchers worth either £50 or £100.

There are 2 versions of the information and survey, for those aged 14-17 and those aged 18-40. Please see the details below.

U18 version

Due to GDPR regulations, for adolescent athletes aged 14–16, parents/guardians must be the point of contact and will be required to authorise their child’s participation by allowing them access to the survey link. Athletes aged 17 or older have the autonomy to access the link independently, without requiring parental consent.

If you’d like to learn more before deciding whether your child should take part, please open the link below. This will take you to an online participant information sheet. We recommend reading through this document before making a decision. If you’re happy for your child to participate, they can use the same link to access the information sheet, followed by a consent form and the survey itself. Please note that the consent form must be completed before access to the survey can be granted.

When your child completes the survey, please ensure it’s done independently and without input from others.

Adult Version

If you’d like to take part and/or learn more, please open the link below. This will take you to a participant information sheet, consent form, and the survey. Please note that the consent form must be completed before access to the survey can be granted.

When you complete the survey, please ensure it’s done independently and without input from others.

Please note that participation in the study is voluntary, and you’re free to withdraw at any time. If you withdraw after submitting data, please inform the lead researcher, Dr Barnaby Zoob Carter (b.carter.1@bham.ac.uk), so he can delete your data.

If you require any further information, please don’t hesitate to contact Dr Zoob Carter, who will be happy to answer any questions about the project.
