30TH AUG-20TH SEPT 2026: INTERNATIONAL RESULTS

Well done to GBR fencers on achieving medals and notable results at recent WPF, FIE, and EFC events.

WPF Para Fencing World Cup: Pattaya City, Thailand (30th August – 1st September 2026)

Well done to Oliver Lam-Watson, who achieved notable last eight results in the Men’s Epee and Foil A individual events: fifth and seventh place, respectively.

Oliver gave an honest reflection of his feelings following the event, saying via his Instagram profile:

“A week of highs and lows, finishing fifth and seventh in epee and foil. Couldn’t quite get it across the line for a podium finish this week. Both results that I would have been so happy with a few years ago, left me feeling a little heartbroken this time. Still knocking at the door, still asking questions. But that’s sport.”

FIE Senior Men’s Foil Satellite: Samorin, Slovakia (19th September 2026)

Congratulations to Jaimie Cook and David Sosnov, who topped the podium with gold and silver, respectively.

Well done also to Mohammed Belbouab, who finished in the last eight.

Afterwards, Jaimie said:

“It was a tough day, but it felt great to be back on the piste after a short break. I wasn’t really sure what to expect, having only come back from holiday on Wednesday. I went into the competition seeing it as a great training opportunity – to get plenty of fights under my belt and start building towards the season ahead.

“I actually felt surprisingly good throughout the day. Every match brought a different challenge, but I stayed focused, worked through each fight, and I was really happy to come away with the win. It was also great to have an all-GB final with David Sosnov and to see two British fencers finishing at the top of the podium.

“A big thank you to the referees and organisers for running a great competition, and to British Fencing, The National Lottery, UK Sport, Leon Paul, Salle Holyrood, and, of course, my dad, for their continued support.”
