2024-25 DICKINSON TROPHY WINNERS
The Matthew Dickinson Memorial Trophy is presented to the epee fencers finishing at #1 in the GBR Cadet and Junior Rankings at the end of the season.
- Emma Mitzova: number one ranked Cadet Women’s Epee
- Grace O’Neill: number one ranked Junior Women’s Epee
- Stanley Leech: number one ranked Cadet Men’s Epee
- Tristan Lumineau: number one ranked Junior Men’s Epee
The trophies were donated in memory of Matthew Dickinson, a member of the Cadet and Junior GBR fencing team from 2014 to 2018.
Dickinson passed away on Sunday 26th April 2020 aged 20. In his career he became the youngest winner of the U23 National Championships, and represented GBR at European and World Championship level.
The trophies in his name are presented yearly to the top ranked epee fencers within the Cadet and Junior circuits. BF’s Independent Director, Alex O’Connell, presented them to the Cadet athletes who were present at the 2025 Cadet and Junior National Championships.

After being asked how it feels to be the top ranked Cadet, Emma said:
“It feels really good, like all my hard work has paid off and I hope to keep working forwards this year for Juniors to try and qualify for Euros and Worlds.”
Stanley Leech added:
“It feels amazing. It’s been a lot of hard work and even at points, there were times when competitions didn’t go so well, but it’s great to know that overall it was all worth it.”
Well done also to Grace O’Neill and Tristan Lumineau, who were not present at the event this year, but were awarded the trophy as the number one ranked athletes for Junior Epee.
