2026 BF HONOURS FOR FENCING PERFORMANCES ANNOUNCED

Congratulations to all those awarded honours in the 2026 BF Honours List for fencing performances. Presentations will take place at the Cardiff Para Fencing European Championships, with further presentations at the AGM on 30th October and at BF Championship events.

The BF Honours are awarded to members who have made a significant contribution to fencing in the UK whilst upholding our values of honesty, respect and excellence.

Athletes are awarded a BF Honour on the basis of international results in fencing (all Olympic and Paralympic disciplines). The table here sets out the level of award based on results.

Other than the goblets, BF Honours are not re-awarded. This means that an athlete who has already been awarded an honour for a fencing result will not be re-awarded this honour for an equivalent result.

In recognition of the outstanding performances of the Para Fencing athletes who competed at the 2024 Paralympics, but who have already received honours prior to 2024, the Honours Committee have awarded new certificates of recognition.

In addition, from this year, all athletes will receive a certificate of recognition if they deliver a repeat Bronze/Silver/Gold honour-level fencing performance in the previous 12 months.

More information

The BF Honours are separate from the BF Community Awards, which recognise some of the best clubs, coaches, fencers and volunteers for their contribution to fencing over the past year. Nominations for the 2025-26 BF Community Awards will open in mid-October 2026.

The BF Honours nomination system focuses on members and ex-members, with all nominations coming directly from members. The Honours Committee acts as selectors with the objective of recommending awards in a wide range of categories while ensuring there is consistency of award levels and criteria. Awards are made annually and announced at the AGM. Other than the goblets, please note that Honours are not re-awarded.
