Volunteers are the backbone of the fencing community

A fencing club, competition or community is built on more than just the fencers. Motivated and enthusiastic volunteers play a key role in developing and maintaining thriving and successful clubs, events and the National Governing Body itself.

BF believes that the long term future of our sport lies within the volunteer community. Attracting and keeping good volunteers to support our clubs, events and fencers is crucial for us all.

Volunteers are often the most hidden and yet valuable asset of the fencing community. Sport England’s helpful guide on how to recruit new volunteers for your club will give you some useful hints on how to do this.

The Sport and Recreational Alliance also have some helpful advice of its members on recruiting and retaining volunteers.

Everyone whatever your age, or skill you can volunteer within your club environment or for BF.

BF recognise the value of volunteers and wants to celebrate all year round the tremendous impact this volunteering has on our sport and community.
