Information for coaches
In line with the published direction of British Fencing, and following their lead, Scottish Fencing will require that only BF‑Registered Coaches who meet all seven "safe to practise" criteria may operate in a coaching capacity at Scottish Fencing events.

This includes (but is not limited to) providing warm‑up lessons, being present piste‑side, or offering any form of direct coaching support during the event.

To be eligible, a coach must appear on the British Fencing Coach Register and hold all of the following:

  1. Current BF Membership
  2. Recognised Coaching Qualification
  3. Valid Safeguarding Training
  4. Valid First Aid Certification
  5. Current PVG Check (or equivalent where appropriate)
  6. Valid Coaching Insurance
  7. Completed and approved BF Coach Profile (including all required uploads)

Coaches whose status lapses or whose documentation expires will not be permitted to coach at Scottish Fencing events until their register status is restored.
