Fencers may only fence in one Region in one season, no refunds will be given for incorrect entries. Any other refunds will be at the discretion of the organisers, dependent on circumstances. The closing date for entries is currently 30th Jan 2026 but this may be brought forward if weapon groups become full. A waiting list system will then be put in place

It is IMPORTANT that your Sport 80 contact details are up to date. If you qualify for the National BYC event, invitations will be sent via Sport 80 and they will be collecting entry fees etc

All fencers who finished in the top 8 of the BYC 25 Finals are eligible for an automatic BYE, but you must enter the qualifying event to be able to claim this.  If you cannot make the regional qualifier due to an international selection event, you can complete a BYE request form found on the British Fencing Website, or use the link BYE Request form

Requirements: BFA 'Compete' level membership (will be checked online) will be required. For information visit - fencers join the BFA online.  All fencing clothing and equipment must comply with BFA regulations click here  - https://britishfencing.com/uploads/files/jan18_approved_safety_guidelines.pdf

Excalibur Sports will have an equipment stand avialable .

We will be ensuring the following:

  • There is enough space for people  within the hall. It may be therefore be necessary, at times, to limit the number of people in the field of play.
  • Spectators will be required to view the competition from the large viewing area that overlooks the hall.
  • Main fencing bags will be stored in allocated areas, to ensure space in available within the field of play.

We have consulted with advice to ensure this event runs as safely as possible due to the large number of fencers attending.

Format: 1 round of pools followed by direct elimination. Subject to numbers, pools may be of mixed sex/age group, but we will be not mixed weapon size.

Eligibility – You must be a member of British Fencing South East Region, please check your membership details through Sport80. You may only fence in 1 region’s qualifying event per year (multiple weapons permitted). If it is found you have entered/fenced in a BYC qualifier for another region you will be disqualified (with no refund).

Fencers in each age/weapon group will qualify to be entered into the National BYC’s. If a fencer qualifies for the BYC Finals, British Fencing will invite them directly to enter the BYCs via Sport80 after the regional cut-off dates have passed.

Excalibur Sports will have their fencing shop at the event, should you need any kit or equipment.
