Athlete Development Strategy

Our values, vision, mission, objectives, strategies.

Values: Our athlete development values are the three BF values of Honesty, Respect and Excellence with the addition of Teamwork and Accountability.

Vision: Our long term vision is  to create a world leading
athlete development system that consistently delivers medals on the world stage

Mission: To deliver a sustainable and inclusive 6W athlete development system that enables every (talented) athlete to access a high-quality pathway that fulfils their potential – as people and performers.

Objectives

  1. System – Create a sustainable hyper connected world leading athlete development system which develops robust and resilient athletes capable of achieving Senior World Championships and Olympic GBR success
  2. Pathway – Deliver an inclusive & progressive pathway allowing for a collaborative delivery of GBR Athlete Development between Performance Clubs, ADP Centres, National Camps and GBR Squads across all six weapons and four age groups*, underpinned by an evidence based WITTW model and research
  3. People – Through our holistic approach to athlete and people development, create a growing community of athletes with the mental and physical fitness to maximise their potential, supported by a wider workforce focussed on providing the best athlete experience

*U17, U20, U23 & Senior/Open.

Strategies

We do this though our Athlete Development Programme which exists to support athletes in achieving Olympic success and inspiring others.

Our primary objective is to produce athletes that are resilient, independent, and high performing with a true sense of self value that in turn inspires others to achieve success.

We take a ‘whole person’ approach because we believe that  ‘Better people make better athletes‘.
